Vice President, Global Physical Security

Overview

Security Management Resources® has just launched a new recruitment for a global physical security executive. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced physical security professional to join a leader in the financial services sector. This is a new role for the organization, and you will be tasked with formulating new physical security programs and enhancing procedures already in place. The company tends to grow thoughtfully, so initially, this is an individual contributor role, requiring someone who can communicate and work effectively with all levels of the company. There is a strong preference for someone who currently resides in the metropolitan New York area. However, relocation from another major US market may be considered for the ideal candidate. As expected, an outstanding total compensation package is on offer for this amazing new job.

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments and evaluate current security practices to identify potential areas of risk.
• Develop and enact new corporate-wide physical security programs and processes to meet operational needs.
• Collaborate with enterprise-wide departments on shared priorities.
• Liaise with site security partners and consult on operational aspects of construction and building security.
• Lead and manage incident response activities, developing mitigation strategies to avoid future risk.
• Partner with other teams on travel and event security.
• Manage third-party security vendor relationships.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging threats to ensure physical security programs meet evolving needs.

Education, Experience, Skills, and Competencies

• An academic degree in a relevant field with a commitment to continued professional development.
• Extensive experience in corporate physical security with a preference for time spent in a high-trust environment such as the financial services sector.
• Deep knowledge of physical security technology and equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and manage cross-functional security risk initiatives.
• Critical and analytical thinking skills with the ability to accurately interpret complex challenges and initiate proactive measures.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively present metrics and insights designed to support senior leadership in their decision processes.
• A curious, thoughtful, and intellectual mindset with the ability to work creatively with diverse groups.
• A flexible approach to guiding change, remaining focused on what really matters.
• The ability to travel globally, sometimes on short notice.
