Departmental Overview The Berkeley School of Education (BSE) is one of the nation's top-ranked schools of education, offering unparalleled scholarship and professional training that prepares future leaders of education policy, practice, and research. Position Summary The Undergraduate Student Academic Advisor position is a critical member of the student services team at the Berkeley School of Education. In addition to providing advising and student services support for undergraduate students throughout their time at the BSE, the Student Academic Advisor provides coordination and support for a range of student services, including outreach, community building, and program planning. The SAA 3 also provides input and support to faculty regarding student progress, as well as scheduling and curriculum needs. The Academic Advisor maintains in-depth working knowledge of college, department, and university advising policies and serves as the authority on undergraduate advising within the department. This position reports directly to the Director of Student Services, but also receives work assignments from the Chair and Co-Chair of the Undergraduate Committee. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
