Job Description

Position Summary:

The Residential & Commercial Carpentry Instructor is a dynamic and essential role responsible for leading the instruction, operation, and strategic development of the Carpentry & Masonry Trades Program at Gordon Cooper Technology Center. This position requires a passionate educator and experienced industry professional dedicated to preparing students for successful careers and advanced studies within the construction career pathway.

Required Education and Experience:

• Three years of experience within the last five years in related industrial/business settings and/or three years of teaching in a related field. Must demonstrate an ability to perform a variety of construction processes.
• Eligible for Oklahoma State Department of Education Provisional or
• Standard Certificationin Trade and Industrial Education. (alternative pathways are available for non-traditional instructors- see more information here: Technology Center Instructors )

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Five years or more instructional experience in a school or business setting

Certification:

• Eligible for Oklahoma State Department of Education Provisional or Standard Certification in Trade and Industrial Education. (“To qualify to the provisional teacher certification, individuals must have at least two years of full-time work/industry experience in the subject area that they have been employed to teach.”)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $62,887.00 - $86,348.00 per year
