Industrial Controls & Power Journeyman Electrician

ISE is an industrial electrical contractor headquartered in Turlock, CA and expanding operations into San Luis Obispo, CA. We set a high bar for craftsmanship and safety. A day in the life

You arrive on site ready to work—PPE on, tools staged, scope reviewed. You align with ISE policies and safety standards, then plan the day’s electrical and low-voltage work. You bend and thread conduit (GRC, ARC, EMT, Ocal, and Stainless Steel), set pull paths, and install distribution and control wiring. You support telecom installation—cable supports, pulls, labeling, and terminations—and you troubleshoot physical network infrastructure issues to restore connectivity.

On the power side, you’re confident around 480 V main distribution systems, panels, and feeders. You commission or service VFDs, verify motor rotation, and dial in basic control systems for motors and field devices. Throughout the shift, you coordinate directly with customers to confirm equipment functionality and production readiness. You mentor apprentices, offering hands-on guidance to help them finish tasks correctly and safely. Before you wrap, you QC your installation, clean the area, and prep for the next shift.

What you’ll handle

• Follow company policies, procedures, and quality standards
• Support telecommunications scope on industrial projects (supports, cable routing, terminations)
• Report to each assigned worksite prepared to begin work
• Interface with customers to verify operation and sign-off on installations
• Troubleshoot and correct issues in physical network infrastructure
• Deliver high-output production work while upholding NEC, local codes, and ISE standards

Experience & credentials

• 6+ years’ experience preferred in industrial electrical work
• California State Certified Journeyman card required
• Required: 8000 hours minimum with California State certified journeyman card currently on record (do not apply without this)
• OSHA 10 & OSHA 30 required
• CPR certification required
• Arc flash training/certification preferred
• Certification and/or experience operating man-lifts preferred
• Experience in industrial and food processing environments is a plus

Technical strengths

• Proficient with hand and power tools; detail- and quality-focused
• Competent in pipe bending and threading (GRC, ARC, EMT, Ocal, Stainless Steel)
• Confident working on 480 V power distribution systems
• Foundational knowledge of control systems for motors and devices
• Ability to work long days on installation/construction projects
• Strong teamwork and professional customer interaction
• Lifting capability of 50 lbs.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license

Education

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)
