Geotechnical Engineer - Houston, Texas

About the Role

An industry-leading engineering firm based in Houston is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join its growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering geotechnical investigations, analysis, and design for a variety of infrastructure, industrial, and energy-related projects across Texas and the Gulf Coast region.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct subsurface investigations, including field exploration and laboratory testing programs.
• Perform geotechnical analysis and design for foundations, retaining structures, embankments, slope stability, and ground improvement.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and recommendations for civil and structural design teams.
• Interpret geotechnical and geological data to inform engineering decisions.
• Oversee subcontractors during field investigations and ensure quality control.
• Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to deliver safe and cost-effective solutions.
• Support construction phase services such as site visits, inspections, and responding to RFIs.
• Adhere to all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• 5–10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience in infrastructure, oil & gas, or commercial projects.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
