We are looking to add a Geoscience Technical Manager to the team. The Geoscience Technical Manager is responsible for the technical leadership within the Geoscience Department. The role involves driving innovation in in-situ tooling and testing, supporting the evolution of internal systems, and ensuring technical excellence across projects and studies. This position will act as the focal point for client and academic collaboration, while contributing to the company's leadership in geotechnical research and development.

Duties

  • Serve as the main technical point of contact for the research, development, and enhancement of in-situ tools, testing methodologies, as well as potential improvements to current systems
  • Oversee and manage third party onshore laboratory testing and post project reporting
  • Assist in identifying, planning, and implementing future developments including new reporting tools, onshore laboratories, and the expansion into related geoscience disciplines
  • Lead initiatives to improve data handling, workflow automation, digital reporting, and technical efficiency across the geoscience function
  • Act as the primary liaison with clients' and consultants' geotechnical leads, as well as with academic and research partners
  • Identify opportunities for technical advancement and lead the preparation of peer-reviewed studies and technical publications
  • Define, manage, and oversee the technical paper approval and review process
  • Develop, maintain, and catalogue Technical Notes to support Business Development and Operations teams
  • Review and update geoscience procedures, work instructions, and software tools within the Business Management System (BMS)
  • Build and maintain a knowledge management platform consolidating technical papers, data, and resources for the geotechnical team
  • Support team development and mentoring, promoting a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation


Required

  • Deep knowledge of offshore geotechnical engineering, awareness of industry trends, research capabilities as well as problem solving and analytical thinking
  • Experience in writing research publications and peer-reviewed papers
  • Client communication, Industry networking, team collaboration and public speaking / presenting
  • Demonstrated experience in R&D, staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends
  • Proactive and capable of driving technical excellence, mentoring peers, and influencing technical strategy
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related Geoscience discipline
  • Minimum 10 years in experience in a Geoscience role, preferably within an Oil & Gas service environment
  • Proven track record in technical publications and research collaboration
  • Preferred 2+ years in a supervisory capacity
