Job Description:

Pinewood Elementary School is seeking a caring, dependable Education Support Specialist to support a student with identified health needs. This position plays an important role in ensuring the student's safety, well-being, and access to learning throughout the school day.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and daily support for a student with health needs in accordance with medical plans and district guidelines
• Monitor the student's well-being and communicate concerns promptly to appropriate staff
• Collaborate with teachers, nurses, administrators, and families to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
• Assist with supervision and other school-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications (one of the following):
Those interested in the position that do not meet one of the required qualifications are still encouraged to apply as the ParaEducator Test can be completed during the application/interview process.

• Associate's degree
• 60 semester college credits
• Passing Score on the ParaEducator test

Essential Skills:

• Ability to follow health care plans and maintain confidentiality
• Strong communication skills and a student-centered mindset
• Dependable, flexible, and able to respond to student needs throughout the day
• Passionate about working with children
• Experience working with children or in a school setting preferred
• Supervise students as directed by the supervisor
• Establishes a culture for learning by supporting the mission, beliefs and the strategic plan of the district
• Maintain confidentiality of information about students, staff and families
• Experience working with diverse students and families

Hourly Pay Range: $17.68 - $26.40
