Job Description

We are an injection molding manufacturing company based in Lake Forest, IL, seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Forklift Trainer and Safety Associate to oversee and enhance our workplace safety programs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety, and minimizing risks associated with occupational health. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential to effectively implement safety protocols across all teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Provide training and development programs on safety practices, including CPR, first aid, and emergency response.
• Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of safety training, incidents, inspections, and compliance reports.
• Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety within the organization.
• Stay updated on changes in occupational health regulations and best practices in workplace safety.
• Assist in managing workers' compensation claims and ensure compliance with workers' compensation law.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Strong knowledge of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) principles.
• Proficient in CPR and first aid techniques.
• Familiarity with occupational health standards and regulations.
• In-depth understanding of OSHA guidelines and EPA regulations.
• Knowledge of workers' compensation processes and laws.
• Excellent training development skills for creating effective safety programs.
• Strong report writing abilities for documenting incidents, audits, and compliance activities.
• Exceptional communication skills to effectively convey safety information to diverse audiences.

Schedule:

• Full-time, Monday to Friday.
• Flexibility required as additional hours may be necessary depending on the start and end times, such as arriving early or staying late.
