Clinical Documentation Integrity Educator
Location: UCHealth Leprino Building AMC, US:CO: Aurora
Department: Clinical Documentation Integrity
FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
Shift: Days
Pay: $38.91 - $60.31 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience
Summary:
Develops and provides services related to the orientation, auditing, continuing education, and assessment of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists.
Responsibilities:
Collaborates with managers, supervisors and staff to identify education and training opportunities. Collaborates with Physician Advisers for education material development.
Designs and performs audits to assess performance of CDI team. Provides education and competencies based on results. Works in tandem with leadership team to support HR processes.
Functions as liaison between the Clinical Documentation Department, CDI Physician Advisers, coding, quality, compliance, providers, clinicians and service line directors.
Coordinates the development and delivery of new staff orientation and education activities. Serves as a mentor for staff in areas of program development and professional development.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements:
State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or Clinical Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP). Preferred: Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).
2 years of CDI experience.
