Growing together.** The Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist (CDS) oversees and implements daily CDI processes, focusing on the accuracy, specificity, and completeness of inpatient clinical documentation for Optum360 clients. Working onsite at client hospitals, the CDS reviews medical records within 24-48 hours of admission, collaborates with providers to clarify documentation, and ensures it reflects the patient's condition and care accurately. Using Optum CDI 3D technology, the CDS enhances documentation quality, supports accurate coding, and promotes revenue integrity. This role involves provider education, coordination with HIM coding professionals, and active engagement with care coordination and quality teams, but does not involve direct patient care. You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. **Required Qualifications:** + 5+ years acute care hospital clinical RN experience OR Medical Graduate with CDI experience and CDI certification (CCDS, CDIP) + Proficiency using a PC in a Windows environment, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Electronic Medical Records + Experience communicating & working closely with Physicians **Preferred Qualifications:** + Comprehensive knowledge of production processes, sound understanding of Radiology or Cardiology product + Extensive IT knowledge and MS platform, some familiarity of medical imaging industry + Solid time management and organizational skills, ability to handle concurrent and complex projects + Solid customer service skills + Self starter, able to work independently without supervision, willingness of taking initiatives and responsibilities The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
