CELLO & BASS INSTRUCTOR (CONCERT SEASON)

Job Title: High School Orchestra Sectional Instructor - Lower Strings (Cello / Bass)

Job Description:
The High School Orchestra Sectional Instructor provides focused, small-group instruction to string students during sectional rehearsals. The instructor works in partnership with the Instrumental Music Director to strengthen students’ technical skills, musical expression, and ensemble performance within their instrument group (cello / bass).

Responsibilities:

• Lead sectional rehearsals that develop tone quality, intonation, rhythm, and ensemble balance

• Guide students in mastering concert repertoire and performance techniques

• Demonstrate proper bowing, posture, and tone production

• Provide individualized feedback to help students improve their musicianship

• Collaborate with the Instrumental Music Director to support program goals and performance preparation

Qualifications:

• Strong performance and teaching background on string instrument(s)

• Experience working with high school musicians preferred

• Excellent communication and classroom management skills

• Ability to engage, motivate, and inspire students in a positive learning environment
