Position Overview:

Advanced Technologies is seeking a motivated and creative AR/VR or Visualization Intern to join out digital twin team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in immersive technologies, along with demonstrable experience in Unity and/or Unreal Engine, and a desire to learn and contribute in a fast-paced work environment. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience by working on exciting projects involving AR/VR and visualization solutions that drive innovation within our organization.

Location:

The position will be located in Lynchburg, VA at the Advanced Technologies Office.

Your Day to Day as an AR/VR or Visualization Intern:

• Assist in the design, development, and prototyping of AR/VR applications and visualization tools using Unreal Engine.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and researchers, to identify project requirements and deliverables.
• Support the creation of immersive experiences utilizing 3D modeling, animation, and visualization techniques.
• Conduct research on emerging AR/VR technologies and trends to inform project development.
• Participate in user testing and gather feedback for iterative improvement of AR/VR applications.
• Document project processes, results, and best practices for future projects.
• Attend team meetings and contribute ideas related to project development and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:

• Must be a currently enrolled student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Game Design, Interactive Media, Graphic Design, or a related field.
• Demonstrable experience with Unity and/or Unreal Engine is required. Familiarity with 3D modeling, animation, and visualization techniques is essential.
• Strong understanding of AR/VR technologies and visualization principles.
• Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to demonstrate attention to detail.
• Strong eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic programming knowledge in languages such as Python, C#, or JavaScript is a plus.

Pay: $21.63 - $28.52

The starting hourly rate for this position in Virginia (US-VA) at the start of employment is expected to be between $21.63 and $28.52 per hour. The hourly rate offered is based on local job market factors and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify the hourly rate (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation, or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or applicable department/team performance, and other market factors.
